Postdoc Scientist (f/m/d) in Physics
Reference No.: WI 2024/13
The Undulator Group at HZB is in charge of the design, construction, installation and operation of permanent magnet insertion devices at BESSY II storage ring and its future successor. Meeting the user demands in terms of spectral properties and polarization with means of high performance insertion devices, while avoiding the undesired impact of the magnetic structures on the electron beam, is the mission of the group.
In order to take full advantage of the novel concepts and advanced developments in storage ring design the corresponding insertion devices have to be developed further as well. Moreover, novel undulator schemes and improved insertion-device performance trigger new schemes and advanced upgrades for synchrotron light sources. Thus, the Undulator Group and its environment provide exciting opportunities for research. The Undulator Group is seeking a physicist to contribute to the theoretical/numerical and physics aspects of the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of permanent magnet insertion devices (IDs) at HZB.
