2025 Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) / Head of Compliance (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) / Head of Compliance will oversee the Compliance and Financial Crime Unit for SG Frankfurt. Key responsibilities include:

• Defining and maintaining the compliance risk and control framework, overseeing activities related to compliance and financial crime in SG Frankfurt, and liaising with German regulatory authorities under delegation from the Chief Compliance Officer for Wholesale Banking Compliance and the Country Head of SG Germany.
• Developing and embedding the German compliance strategy in coordination with Group, supporting the organization in fostering a compliance, conduct, and risk-aware culture, and ensuring risk management and ownership by the first line of defense.
• Acting as the Anti-bribery & Corruption Officer and Breach-Policy-Officer, focusing on preventing, detecting, and responding to bribery, corruption, or policy breach risks.
• Reporting hierarchically to the local Chief Country Officer and functionally to the central compliance department (CPLE).
• Implementing and adapting compliance and financial crime frameworks, overseeing training, culture, and conduct initiatives.
• Ensuring compliance with local regulations and addressing exemptions where local laws are more restrictive than Group rules.
• Overseeing the compliance program, including risk assessments, incident management, and reporting to local and Group committees, and informing management on non-compliance risks.
• Supporting the driving of an appropriate compliance culture at SG Frankfurt.
• Implementing monitoring, surveillance, and control frameworks to mitigate compliance and reputational risks.
• Collaborating with second-line controls and advising management on compliance issues, including new products or services.
• Monitoring externalized services related to compliance duties.
• Recruiting, managing, and educating compliance teams, ensuring adequate resources.
• Not supervising the DPO or AMLO directly, but receiving periodic risk overviews from them.
• Participating as a member of the Extended Executive Committee.

Profile required

Experience & Technical Skills

• University degree in banking, law, or related compliance qualifications.
• Extensive experience in a similar role within banking or financial institutions.
• Deep knowledge of German and European regulatory frameworks (WpHG, MiFID II, MAR, KAGB, etc.).
• Experience in organizational change and compliance management amidst evolving regulations.
• Strong control techniques and risk management expertise.
• Knowledge of banking, finance, and insurance sectors.
• Proven handling of sensitive and confidential information.
• Fluent in German and English; French skills are advantageous.
