Details: Consultant delivers consulting Network Security project activities through medium to long term engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Key tasks (independent delivery):
• Identify, assess and upgrade customer network security technology infrastructure regarding risks and vulnerabilities.
• Identify gaps in the security architecture, and develop recommendations for long- and short-term roadmap for corrections.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that project scope is correctly delivered and that the requirements are defined and delivered.
• Provide security configuration services around firewall ruleset design, review, implementation and operation management. If necessary, provide firewall ruleset analysis, workflow automation and implementation of automation.
• Assist firewall refresh
• Applicable knowledge of:
o Firewalls (Palo Alto, Palo Alto Prisma)
o OT security
o Network intrusion detection
o Security audits, diagnostics, forensic tools
o Management tools and procedures
o Enterprise security programs
• Work with minimal supervision as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or a related field
• 5 – 10 years related network security work experience
• 10 or more years of technical experience required, including at least 5 years in security services.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the following technologies:
o Palo Alto Firewall
o Palo Alto Prisma
o And other technologies as Checkpoint, Fortinet
• Analytical skills required.
• Experience in implementing and maintaining Network Security Solutions, from designing, implementing to supporting.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to write and interpret High- and Low-level
designs.
• Document procedures that conform to a prescribed style and format.
• Present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Preferred Skills:
• Previous consulting experience within a Professional Services organization.
• Industry certification such as Palo Alto:
o Palo Alto PCNSE
o Palo Alto PRISMA SASE
o CCSP
