Senior Director, Engineering

We’re looking for a visionary Senior Leader in Edge AI & Emerging Technologies to join our global IT Services organization. Based in Germany, this role operates at the intersection of innovation, strategy, and execution—driving transformative AI solutions across industries and continents. About the Role As a senior technology leader, you will architect and lead the development of scalable, real-time Edge AI systems deployed across thousands of devices. You’ll work with cutting-edge hardware, collaborate with global partners and clients, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, production-grade AI solutions. Key Responsibilities Architect large-scale, distributed Edge AI systems for real-time inference Lead hardware-aware model development for platforms like NVIDIA Jetson, Qualcomm Snapdragon, Intel Movidius, and ARM Cortex Design and optimize low-latency, low-power AI pipelines using tools like TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, TVM, and OpenVINO Build secure, scalable deployment platforms using NVIDIA Triton, K3s, and MLOps frameworks Integrate AI with real-world data sources (video, LiDAR, IMU, audio) Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and platform teams for system-level optimization Define strategies for OTA updates, fleet monitoring, and privacy-preserving AI Stay ahead of trends in tinyML, NAS, zero-shot inference, and federated learning Additional Responsibilities Lead the technology solutions organization to meet growth targets Define and execute strategic roadmaps for solution development Drive skill development and thought leadership across the team Engage with global clients and partners to ensure delivery excellence Establish best practices for solution reuse and performance monitoring Your Technical Expertise Deep knowledge of Edge AI, embedded ML, and model compression. Hands-on experience with: NVIDIA Jetson (Orin, Xavier, Nano) + DeepStream Qualcomm QCS/QCM + SNPE SDK Intel Movidius + OpenVINO ARM NN / Ethos-U / TFLite Micro Proficiency in Python, C++, and embedded programming Experience with edge deployment stacks: Docker, K3s, Yocto, RTOS Strong grasp of network protocols, OTA updates, and device provisioning Your Leadership & Strategy Expertise: ~10+ years in AI/ML, with 3–5 years in edge/embedded systems ~ Proven track record of delivering commercial Edge AI products ~ Strong cross-functional leadership across hardware, software, and product teams ~ Strategic thinker with the ability to balance latency, accuracy, memory, and power trade-offs ~ Excellent communicator with both technical and executive stakeholders Great to have: MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field Experience with robotics (ROS/ROS2), autonomous systems, or industrial IoT Familiarity with simulation tools (Omniverse, Unity) and synthetic data generation Background in cybersecurity for edge devices and air-gapped networks Patents or publications in Edge AI or embedded ML __________________ We promote equal opportunities for all employees, regardless of their cultural and social background, gender, disability, age, religion, beliefs, and sexual identity.
