Job Title : Senior Cybersecurity EngineerLocation : Remote position with occasional on-site presence required in Germany; candidates based in Germany are preferred.Start Date : July / AugustContract Type : Freelance / B2B / LTDDuration : 6 Months+ Likely extensionsAbout the Role :We are looking for an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer based in Germany to join a large-scale financial organization undergoing a major cybersecurity transformation. This role is ideal for a senior professional who can operate at both a high-level strategic and hands-on technical level, with strong implementation skills and experience in advanced cybersecurity technologies and concepts.Key Responsibilities :Support and enhance Security Operations Center (SOC) functions and initiatives.Contribute to the transition from a traditional security model to a Zero Trust architecture .Implement and optimize security technologies including CrowdStrike , Cloudflare , Palo Alto , and Okta .Strengthen and maintain network security and encryption protocols across the environment.Act as a subject matter expert in designing and deploying secure network solutions.Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align cybersecurity efforts with business goals.Ensure best practices are followed in threat detection, incident response, and infrastructure hardening.Key Skills & Experience :Proven experience in a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer or similar role, ideally within finance or large-scale enterprise environments.Deep understanding of SOC operations , network security, and encryption methodologies.Hands-on experience with CrowdStrike , Cloudflare , Palo Alto , Okta , and Zero Trust frameworks .Strong knowledge of network architecture , secure access, and identity management.Ability to work independently and contribute to high-level security strategy while executing technical implementations.German language skills are a plus but not required.Would you be open to hearing more?
