ABOUT THE ROLE

As one of the world\’s leading engineering and digital transformation services providers, we are looking to expand our Data Practice across Western Europe to meet increasing client demand.

This is a rare opportunity for a data industry leader to join our Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) Practice, focusing on leading and building the business in Western Europe.

You will report to the Global Head of Data Science in the US and manage a growing team.

The role offers visibility and strategic influence in partnership with the global data leadership team to drive growth and market strategy.

We are open to hiring in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, or other Western European locations for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Western European Data Science, ML/AI Practice
• Collaborate with global and European teams to expand our footprint
• Drive competency development in Generative AI, Advanced Analytics, Computer Vision, NLP
• Focus on practical AI frameworks, Data, MLOps, LLMOps, and responsible AI offerings
• Develop enterprise transformation offerings with AI adoption as a core driver
• Champion an AI-first product vision across teams
• Formulate AI\’s impact on productivity in various domains
• Engage with clients at C-level, ensuring satisfaction and growth
• Support sales activities through opportunity assessment and proposal creation
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary European data team
• Stay updated on ML/AI advancements and recommend new approaches
• Represent EPAM at industry events and conferences

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on data science background and understanding of AI/ML tech
• Knowledge of MLOps, Data Platforms
• Visionary leader with experience in a large consulting environment
• Extensive experience with data technology and business engagement
• Proven ML/AI solution implementation experience
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and secure project funding
• Excellent at client engagement, especially with C-level executives
• Innovative thinking and complex project management skills
• Hands-on technical expertise is essential
• Fluent in German and English
