About the role
Due to growth and demand, we now have an exciting new opportunity to expand the team and recruit for a Senior Account Manager – Central Europe (DACH – Germany) (Home office).
Aim: To develop and accelerate further growth in Northern Europe by a bigger focus on Meat Technology Customers.
Key responsibilities
- Leverage the many sales tools and business enablers at your disposal, to effectively convey the Kerry value proposition for the relevant EUM and technology.
- Effectively promote the Kerry product collections into technologies priority areas, identify and present opportunities for profitable new developments.
- Drive and implement the corporate strategy within the client portfolio.
- Manage and develop a pipeline of new business opportunities in order to grow business revenue, margin and market share.
- Successfully manage and deliver against individual and team sales targets with specified area of responsibility (e.g. region, strategic accounts).
- Understand customer’s business, their needs and goals and identify potential new business.
- Identify market and competitor activity, product and industry developments and feedback this information to Sales Leadership.
- Use market intelligence to open up new channels of sales.
- Measure and communicate progress against annual targets via accurate and timely reporting and forecasting. Identify gaps and develop a remediation plan as needed.
- Identify general areas for improvements to maximize customer satisfaction & efficiencies, streamline processes, increase sales, improve delivery and product availability etc.
- Effectively collaborate with internal colleagues across all departments, to ensure appropriate resources for all projects.
- Develop a deep understanding of the categories in which Kerry operates, key manufacturers supplying them, the competitive mix and regulatory framework.
- Create and implement key account plans in alignment with internal stakeholders and in partnership with the customer.
- Deliver above market growth in line with country, region and Group aspirations.
Qualifications and skills
In Kerry we understand that people have very different career trajectories and experiences. In order to be successful in this role we would be looking for the right competencies and aptitudes as well as your proven track record of success in sales.
- Bachelor’s degree level ideally in the field of Business, Food Science or Food chemistry, specialized/expertise in Meat Industry preferably. (e.g. Taste, Food Protection or Meat Alt).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the role.
- Strong commercial acumen around contract negotiations & closing skills.
- Ability to build, lead, negotiate and conclude account customer plans.
- Pro-actively identifies and unlocks opportunities.
- Proven ability in analyzing and interpreting all available data.
- Experience of working in matrix organizations, where collaborating with internal stakeholders is key to managing projects.
- Demonstrates good customer awareness.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German & English and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts.
- Full driving license.
- Availability to travel across DACH region and other parts of Europe.
