Our strategy? To be anything but typical strategy consultants! Our unconventional nature is embedded deep in our DNA. Sixty years ago, BCG shook up the world of strategy consulting. Now, it has grown to become one of the world leaders in the field. How do we manage to stay ahead of the pack? The answer is simple: by reinventing ourselves every day and providing a home with diverse career opportunities to the best talent and most creative minds all over the world. And by giving you the chance to make an impact in business and society. BCG stands for authenticity, exceptional work, and strong integrity. Once you’ve become part of the Group, we’ll help you find your path, unleash your potential, effect change, and advance the world. #jointhegroup
Our most vital resource is our people. That’s why Human Resources is one of our most vital teams: From recruiting to career development for BCGers, and from training and mobility support to staffing (assigning our consultants to client casework), the Human Resources Team plays a decisive role in making BCG not just a company, but a Group in which each individual can be their best.
What You\’ll Do
As a Talent Manager, you’ll be part of the HR department that supports our consulting employees (“Consulting Team”). Our “Talent Management Unit (TMU)” is the key point of contact for our consultants in all HR- and career-related topics, ranging from operational workforce planning (case staffing) to traditional career development from their start at BCG onward. Together with a team of Talent Specialists and Talent Junior Specialists, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and executing all career development (CD) activities for our junior cohorts across our offices in Central Europe (with a focus on Germany and Austria).
In close collaboration with the Talent Management Director, you will drive and oversee strategic, cross-functional projects and process optimization efforts across all subsystems within Central Europe, ensuring alignment with regional priorities and operational excellence. You will act as a senior sparring partner for all A/C-related topics within the unit, together with the Talent Management Director, and foster the ambition of strong HR business partnering for consulting staff members. In this role, you will ensure consistency across all offices, make sure that all processes are steered uniformly and holistically, and foster best-practice sharing across offices.
You’ll lead a team of 5–6 persons as determined by the Talent Management Director and take over functional leadership for other specialists within the team. You will be responsible for managing, coaching, and motivating the team members on a daily basis and for ensuring smooth team operations and effective collaboration. You’ll take responsibility for service delivery and quality.
In your role, you will always look at the big picture, challenge existing business practices, and spot potential improvements as they come along. In alignment with the Talent Management Director, you will independently drive key initiatives to improve the TMU processes, IT infrastructure, and tools.
For complex HR questions, you’ll act as the central go-to person and work with our other HR departments to develop individual solutions in critical situations in the career of our consultants.
What You\’ll Bring
- At least seven years of relevant industry experience or five or more years of experience at a consulting firm
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably with a focus on business management or human resources management
- Track record of managing and developing people; strong leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks in parallel
- Ideally, you have experience in employee potential analysis within human resources
- You are proficient in MS Office software (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and enjoy working with collaboration tools such as Slack and Trello
- You have excellent written and spoken German and English skills
Who You\’ll Work With
You’ll be part of a 16-person team based in Düsseldorf, Munich, and Zurich, with strong ties to all CE offices. Our collaboration is characterized by respect, acceptance, and mutual trust. Through various interfaces, you’ll gain interesting insights into the work of other HR areas (Recruiting, L&D, Legal, etc.). You’ll report directly to the responsible Talent Management Director, who will support you during your orientation phase and throughout your professional development. You’ll also always be able to draw on the experience of your coworkers.
