About the Role:
We are looking for a Head of Cyber Defence, to lead a new transformational cyber security program. With a strategy and roadmap already in place, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of their cyber defence capabilities and make a lasting impact.

You will oversee a large established cyber defence team, driving the uplift of their cyber security services, spearheading the transition to a managed SOC model, and championing automation and innovation. This is a high-visibility role, requiring engagement with executive leadership, the board, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Uplift and manage the Security Operations Centre setting operational targets and driving services to the next level.
  2. Lead strategic initiatives, including the adoption of automation, advanced threat hunting techniques, and the transition to a managed SOC model.
  3. Develop and execute a comprehensive communication campaign to build awareness and support for the transformation program across the organisation.
  4. Coordinate and lead cyber forensic efforts, ensuring swift and effective analysis and response to cyber security incidents.
  5. Serve as a key liaison to the board and executive leadership, delivering critical updates on cyber security threats, emerging trends, and the progress of transformation program.
  6. Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  7. Work closely with technology, engineering, and operations teams to integrate cyber security into broader business processes, ensuring secure and efficient operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Proven leadership experience in senior cybersecurity roles, with a track record of engaging at the board level.
  2. Technical expertise, with experience leading and responding to large-scale cyber incidents.
  3. Deep experience managing and maturing SOC environments.
  4. Demonstrated experience developing cyber security strategies and driving transformation programs.
  5. Strong communicator, capable of engaging and influencing executive and external partners.
  6. Hands-on problem solver with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating threats.
