As an Analog Functional Modeling Engineer you will be responsible for developing behavioral digital descriptions of analog functionalities targeted for digital simulators. Your deliveries are needed in the context of pre-silicon activities: mainly for functional and mixed-signal verification but also for enabling simulations for post-silicon activities like setup of test programs and lab verification algorithms. You will act at the intersection of analog concepts, digital coding, and functional verification environments.
Job Description
In your new role you will:
- Develop module level behavioral models of analog functionalities targeted for digital simulators for a variety of mixed-signal automotive smart power products (eg: Motor Drives, Gate Drivers, Body Bridges, Transceivers)
- Have full responsibility for model development according to requested specifications
- Perform model verification vs schematic & requirements
- Define model development and verification plan in sync with existent modeling methodology
- Align with stakeholders on model requirements (eg: accuracy, complexity, feature set, etc)
- Ensure sign-off criteria are met and model documentation is consistent
- Contribute to defining and improving existing modeling methodology in line with market state-of-the-art
(eg: investigate new flows, tools, simulators, understand modeling language constrains and find workarounds, process automation, etc)
You have good analog circuitry understanding which helps you derive an abstract model from an analog IC block/concept in a digital description language (eg: SystemVerilog). You have a passion for numerical methods and mathematical models as this greatly increases your efficiency. You are motivated to improve existing methodology and constantly optimize the way functionalities are modeled. You like working with multiple tools and simulators and getting an in depth view/understanding of simulation engine and its behavior. You are an organized person and this is seen in your modeling code structure and documentation.
You are best equipped for this role if you have:
- A Bachelors’ degree in Electronics Engineering, Applied Electronics, Automatic Control or equivalent degree
- Experience with real number modeling languages (eg: Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL)
- Good knowledge in Digital & Mixed-Signal simulators (eg: AMS designer, XA-VCS)
- Know-how in Cadence tools and Virtuoso environment would be a plus
- Good understanding of analog concepts & circuitry
- Passion for applied mathematics, mathematical models, numerical simulations is a big plus
- Scripting languages are nice to have (eg: Python)
- Good command of English Language
