Your profile
- Completed university degree (Bachelor) or training in the field of communication design, knowledge management, information science, or similar and relevant practical experience in higher education
- Experience and competence in handling electronic media and digital literature supply
- Experience with knowledge management tasks
- Experience in IT solutions for publishing practices
- Experience in the field of scientific project management and digital archiving
- Organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Communicative and social competence
- Great pleasure in working in an international company and very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken

Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a new colleague to join our Vice-President Research/ Library Team in Hamburg or Berlin on a full-time basis /40 hour a week starting as soon as possible, who shares our vision of excellence in education and who is committed to making a difference in the lives of our students and staff.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the administration of the university’s multi-location library services, ensuring high standards of access, user support, and compliance with institutional policies.
- Mentor student assistants and library staff, fostering professional development and a collaborative team culture.
- Develop and maintain advanced research information systems.
- Align and coordinate library offerings and service standards across UE locations to ensure consistent quality and user experience.
- Manage library budgets, including resource allocation, cost control, and reporting to university leadership.
- Establish partnerships and maintain close cooperation with the UE Publication House, the UE Writing Lab, and other academic support services to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Negotiate contracts and licensing agreements with publishers, database providers, and partner institutions to broaden resource availability and improve value for the university.
- Drive innovation by monitoring trends in digital libraries, open access, and recommending improvements to services and infrastructure.
