Director of Project Purchasing (m/f/d)

• 2 days in office, 3 days home office
• €120, 000 – €150, 000 base salary + bonus
• Leading a global team of 40+ employees

I am partnered with a leading manufacturing company that is searching for a seasoned procurement experienced with extensive experience in project & serial purchasing that is passionate about procurement transformations. This position will be the interface between the local and global strategic procurement teams and will play a key role in building up the entire purchasing organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Leading a team of 40+ professionals with several direct reports that have their own global sub-teams.
• Responsible for managing all project & serial procurement tasks globally for the largest business unit inside the organisation.
• Building up the project & serial purchasing teams, implementing the procurement processes and connecting the organisations supply base.
• Working cross-culturally with other departments to ensure resources are allocated effectively whilst adhering to deadlines according to customer projects.
• Frequent travelling to suppliers and customers.
• Collaborating with local purchasing teams to ensure production is on time
• Utilising purchasing tools to ensure procurement processes are optimised.

Experience Required:

• 10+ years of project or serial purchasing within a manufacturing environment
• Extensive experience procuring castings, forgings, welding’s, bearings, machined parts etc.
• Bachelors degree
• Fluent English & German mandatory
• Ability to be on-site at least 2 days a week, but preferably more
• Strong knowledge eSourcing & eProcurement tools
• Proven record of leading, developing and building global procurement teams
