The iPSC department at Evotec headquarters in Hamburg is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Senior Research Scientist (all genders) in Stem Cell .

Full-time and permanent

Key responsibilities:

• Provide scientific expertise and guidance with a focus on cardiomyopathy and inflammation as well as other disease areas depending on project needs.
• Identify, develop and validate novel therapeutic approaches using models based on human pluripotent stem cells with a strong focus on cardiomyopathy.
• Maintain an awareness of cutting-edge technological advancements and scientific knowledge in cardiology to improve project performance.
• Scientific lead for drug discovery and service projects.
• Set up and implementation of project plans (including timelines and milestones) for strategic partnerships and service activities together with BD.
• Line management responsibilities for cell production, quality control and automation units within the iPSC team in Hamburg.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams and independent assignment of tasks and responsibilities to achieve project goals while adhering to challenging timelines.
• Scientifically lead drug discovery project(s) along the pre-clinical drug development process.
• Provide proposals and scientific expertise to continuously advance and improve the iPSC drug discovery platform through novel technologies and project ideas, both internally as well as in collaboration with our partners.
• Timely and accurate generation of high-quality documents, reports and presentations.
• Representation of Evotec iPSC capabilities to internal stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D in biology or a related field with several years of work experience in various disease areas with a strong focus on inflammation and cardiology as well as toxicology.
• Proven track record in leading drug discovery campaigns as well as in supporting business development activities resulting in successful deal acquisitions.
• Extensive knowledge in iPSC technology and the application of thereof in drug discovery campaigns.
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and projects (strategic and service business).
• Excellent communication and people skills as well as experience in managing and professionally developing other scientists and technical staff presentation skills.
• Proven track record to be able to stay up to date on novel technological developments and scientific literature in the relevant areas mentioned above.
• High level of motivation, initiative, flexibility and ability to work well in a cross-functional team.
• Full proficiency of English language – both written and spoken, German advantageous.
