Key Tasks and Responsibilities
As part of the AIT team, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Definition of MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment) including the following tasks:
- Processing assembly, integration and testing (AIT) tasks as part of Space projects (satellites, payloads, subsystems);
- Coordination of the mechanical AIT work on the satellite in consultation with the AIT manager and other disciplines involved;
- Preparation and implementation of mechanical integrations of flight hardware on the satellite, as well as documentation of the work results;
- Preparation of concepts for mechanical AIT and MGSE and creation of corresponding planning documents;
- Practical implementation of external and internal requirements for the mechanical AIT, MGSE and Thermal hardware;
- Support subcontractors for MGSE, thermal hardware and test equipment;
- Creation of integration and test procedures, reports, etc., including evaluation of the test results;
- Procurement of MGSE for satellite projects;
- Creation of the necessary specifications, support of the tender process (tender evaluation) and support of subcontractors up to delivery and acceptance;
- Coordination and participation in the internal development of MGSE according to the PRC process, final implementation of the admission test (Proof Load Test) for CE certification;
- Specification and acceptance of thermal hardware and test equipment;
- Revise/update the generic MGSE and thermal hardware specification in line with the project requirements;
- Participation in test and launch campaigns (the activity requires the willingness to work for several months stays abroad);
- Participation in NRBs (Non-Conformance Review Boards) to find the causes of errors and finding solutions;
- Cooperation with other Airbus locations and European subcontractors.
Skills & Experience
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- MS Office at least in detail; special skills.
- Experience working with Windchill and CAD software (CATIA) desirable.
- Dealing with SAP applications.
- Working with scheduling tools (MS Project).
- Technical understanding of mechanisms and system elements of satellites and Space probes;
- Driving license and safe handling of cranes and aerial work platforms desirable.
- Skilled handling and experience in high-quality mechanical integration, preferably from space components;
- Knowledge of manufacturing and integration standards in the aerospace industry;
- Insight into the function and application of electrical components;
- Experience in the field of measurement technology (mechanical/electrical) desirable;
- Assertiveness, independent and structured way of working, ability to work in a team and high quality awareness.
- Willingness to take business trips and the associated shift work.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of German is an advantage.
