Health and Safety Advisor

Winthrop Technologies is a dedicated data centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions to our clients, headquartered in Dublin and delivering throughout Europe.

Winthrop specialises in providing turnkey data centre solutions, providing services from design through to construction across the full range of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services as well as commissioning.

We are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries , equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight .

We are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join our team. This position will be site-based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Project management team and Site Health & Safety lead
• Adhere to the project & Winthrop Safety Management system
• Comply with relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation
• Follow Winthrop Technologies PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans
• Review Method statements, risk assessments, safe plan of action, permit to work
• Ensure compliance with the project execution plan
• Manage & maintain good Safety Practices
• Conduct ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments and control of hazardous substances
• Complete & register safety interventions
• Carry out regular site audits and inspections, document results, and follow up on corrective actions
• Maintain records of statutory inspections for project activities, tools, and plant
• Adopt a proactive approach to project EHS requirements
• Work independently or as part of a team
• Ensure project sub-contractors adhere to project & group EHS policies & procedures
• Coordinate, manage & maintain Winthrop Technologies induction & training
• Compile & conduct Toolbox talks as necessary
• Assist or carry out accident investigation reports in a timely manner & ensure communication to Winthrop Technologies project management
• Ensure welfare & hygiene facilities are in place, managed & maintained
• Attend daily activity briefings and whiteboard meetings
• Maintain waste reduction and recycling programmes in line with project policies & procedures

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant third level degree qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety
• 3+ years’ experience on large construction sites
• Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation
• Flexibility in working patterns where necessary
• Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site
• Strong communication & computer skills
