Position Overview
This position will be responsible for developing (with input from sales, marketing, and manufacturing) an inventory plan and production plan for production, tolling, and warehouse sites. Must balance short and long-term requirements of customers and manufacturing to assure that inventory levels and the production plan are consistent with business group objectives, product, and package profitability goals. Manage external warehouses/tolling sites, by planning production runs and managing inventory at these sites to support customer demand in addition to developing production plans for multiple Evonik production sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and distribution process for assigned business lines, coordinating efforts across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Customer Service.
- Oversee the manufacturing of tolled material; coordinate raw material movements to the sites to ensure tolled production plans can be met.
- Develop production plans for multiple Evonik production sites.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction projects (ex. product rationalization).
- Communicate demand, supply, and/or inventory issues – provide solutions/recommendations and drive alignment.
- Manage finished goods inventory for responsible product line(s) to meet targets along with ensuring proper inventory health across the supply network.
- Handle logistics and supply issues for order fulfillment.
- Coordinate new product timing in manufacturing to maintain operating plans and supply commitments.
- Participate in special projects related to technology planning, product strategy, capital projects, software and business process design, and marketing initiatives.
- Ensure safety and compliance with all applicable laws and corporate requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years in Supply Chain, with 3 in the chemical industry preferred.
- Strong data and computer skills required along with proficiency in SAP and Excel; experience with IBP is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, strong analytical skills, and proactive with an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and successfully.
