- Organize and lead planning intervals (PIs) for the Agile Release Train, ensuring alignment and readiness across teams
- Drive the Continuous Exploration process by fostering the synthesis of a Vision, Roadmap, and Backlogs through pre- and post-PI planning events
- Define and Publish Program PI Objectives
- Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for transparency and visibility across stakeholders.
- Coordinate Dependencies Between Teams
- Support teams in identifying, managing, and resolving inter-team dependencies to ensure smooth integration and delivery of features
- Collaborate with Stakeholders
- Work with Product Managers, System Architects, Business Owners, and other stakeholders to mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and escalate impediments as necessary
- Lead Agile ceremonies such as the Inspect and Adapt workshops and ART Sync to encourage collaboration, share progress, and identify improvement opportunities
- Monitor ART Performance
- Track and measure the performance and progress of the Agile Release Train to ensure alignment with objectives and timelines.
- Optimize Flow of Value
- Leverage tools like Kanban to assess and improve the flow of value, establish ART flow metrics, and enhance DevOps and Continuous Delivery Pipeline practices.
- Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate retrospectives within the Agile Release Train to identify areas for improvement and implement actionable changes.
- Encourage Agile and Lean Practices
- Promote experimentation, feedback loops, and the adoption of Agile and Lean principles across teams and stakeholders
- Coach Scrum Masters and Teams
- Provide guidance to ART Scrum Masters/Team Coaches on cadence, practices, and Lean-Agile guardrails to foster a collaborative environment.
- Participate in Communities of Practice (CoPs)
- Collaborate with other Release Train Engineers in Communities of Practice to share knowledge and improve ways of working
- Plan and Facilitate Innovation Events
- Organize innovation events within the Agile Release Train to foster a culture of creativity and encourage innovative problem-solving.
- Collaborate with Transformation Coaches and LACE
- Work closely with Agile/Transformation Coaches and the Lean-Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) to drive alignment and continuous improvement across the organization.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to coach, guide, mentor, and inspire Agile teams and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment
- Strong Facilitation Skills
- Proven expertise in facilitation and coaching to align teams and enable effective collaboration across the Agile Release Train
- Exceptional Communication Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and ensure smooth communication among diverse teams and stakeholders
- Advanced Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex issues, manage risks, and implement effective solutions.
- Deep Agile and Lean Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of Agile and Lean principles, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a culture of learning
- Mandatory possession of a Leading SAFe certification to ensure expertise in implementing and scaling Agile practices
- SAFe Release Train Engineer Certification
- Preferably hold certifications such as SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) to validate skills in managing Agile Release Trains.
- Experience in Project Leadership
- A minimum of 8 years of experience leading project teams and managing IT projects with both local and global scope
- Expertise in Multicultural Environments
- Proven experience working in multicultural and international environments, especially on large and complex projects
- Risk and Dependency Management
- Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risks, as well as handle interdependencies between teams to ensure smooth execution
- Commitment to Continuous Learning
- Dedication to continuous learning and improvement, fostering innovation, and adopting best practices within Agile teams
- Strong Stakeholder Management Skills
- Ability to interact and align with diverse stakeholders, including business owners, system architects, and product managers, ensuring clarity and progress
- Agile Framework Experience
- Proven hands-on experience in implementing and managing Agile frameworks like SAFe, enabling scalability and alignment across teams.
