Job Description: User Experience Designer (UXD)
DESCRIPTION:
– Visual Design:
• Proven experience in rapid prototyping with a mix of low and high-fidelity wireframes,
architecture diagrams, designs, and sketches.
• Develop information architecture guides, wireframes, prototypes, and presentations
that can communicate core features/functionality and product structure to
stakeholders and technology teams.
– Collaboration:
• Works with product managers, product owners, engineers, and other stakeholders in
an agile framework to define strategic priorities balanced with continuous discovery
and delivery of customer-driven and iterative products and solutions.
• Build relationships with cross-functional team members and executives across
organizations, and effectively communicate process, design goals, and team vision as a
strong representative of the design team.
– UX Strategy:
• Help shape roadmaps, defining iterative scope and product requirements while
aligning viability, value, and usability.
– Design System:
• Create and maintain a design system through documentation, templates, and libraries.
Work side-by-side with product owners and engineers to ensure the transition
between design and implementation is as seamless as possible (slices, files, code
hand-offs, etc.).
– UX Research:
• Use analysis, competitive research, and continuous user insights to socialize the UX,
design, and user research strategies in collaboration with product management.
• Work with the team to prioritize and execute user research and testing.
– Domain & Technology:
• Knowledge of designing products and tools that interface with a variety of backend
platforms and services that goes beyond integration work including Cloud, NodeJS,
React, REST architecture, APIs, and pipelines.
• While you will be creating products and solutions primarily for the front-end, there
will be a lot of interfacing work with backend platforms and tools.
• Critical to have a working knowledge of these to best enable engineering and product
teams.
– Research & Innovation:
• Keep abreast of the latest interactive technology, developments/trends, and UX/UI best
practices in the digital landscape.
• Partner with colleagues to ideate on potential innovations that solve real customer
problems and capitalize on business opportunities.
• Inspire what’s possible by quickly producing multiple concepts, knowing when to
apply attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
– Experience in a continuous discovery and development environment with 3-5 years’ experience
designing digital products and solutions as part of a cross-functional team.
– Has worked as part of an agile scrum team as a dedicated cross-functional team member (not
agency model and not offshore).
– Proven experience in taking complicated problems and breaking them down into iterative
designs that provide incremental customer value.
– Ability to work independently and set goals for UX improvements.
– Ability to communicate UX improvements to a variety of stakeholders.
– Experience partnering with developers to facilitate design handoff and QA designs.
– Experience with competitive analysis, user research, and communicating and applying those
findings to UX execution.
– Portfolio or case studies showcasing experience in executing on key business objectives through
user experience. Work samples should reflect an advanced understanding of skills and scope of work
and you should be prepared to talk through them in detail.
– Knowledge and passion for cybersecurity and/or product security (SDL) is a plus.
– Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate
internally, upward, and cross-functionally; ability to interface with cross-functional team members to gain
support required to accomplish assignments; able to build coalitions.
– Must be a team player with the ability to work with interdisciplinary teams fostering idea-sharing,
and streamlining.
– Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
– Strong communication skills, organization skills, and time management skills.
– Must exhibit the highest level of work standards and keen attention to detail.
– Candidates must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, with the ability to work on
multiple projects simultaneously.
– Must be technologically savvy, with proficiency in relevant design and prototyping software for
documenting, communicating ideas/outputs/solutions, showcasing flows, etc., such as Figma,
Principle, Adobe Creative Suite, and more.
