Safety Specialist Internship – Rheinberg

START DATE: flexible between January 2025 and September 2025.
AVAILABLE LOCATIONS: Achim, Gattendorf, Dortmund, Witten, Suelzetal, Moenchengladbach, Heidenheim an der Brenz, Horn-Bad Meinberg, Rheinberg.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Familiarize and help with the organization and processes for new launches.
2. Assist the Safety New Build Manager and the Safety Engineer in delivering safety excellent processes and operations.
3. Support safety process systems through participation in planned inspections of buildings, machines and jobs for accident prevention.
4. Perform and update Risk Assessments and Job Hazard Analyses.
5. Analyse accident data and develop standards to ensure prevention of accidents.
6. Support investigations linked to accidents and prepare accident reports to identify preventive safety measures for incorporation into the safety program.
7. Help to develop safety procedures and implement training programs to meet the needs of Managers and Associates regarding critical safety issues.
8. Potential relocation to the designated work location.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Currently in your penultimate or final year and working towards a university degree in Health & Safety, Engineering or similar discipline.
2. Eligible to complete a full-time internship of 3-6 months.
3. Highly proficient in both spoken and written English and the local language of the country you are applying for (Common European Framework of Reference C1).
4. Analytical skills, preferably with advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g. macros, pivot tables, complex formulas).

1. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify process improvements and innovative solutions.
2. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with others.
3. Demonstrated curiosity, proactivity, and willingness to take on challenges in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
