QC Design is a quantum computing software startup. We are on a mission to enable mankind to build the ultimate computing machines limited only by the laws of physics. In service of this mission, we build design-automation software for our customers, who are quantum computer manufacturers across all hardware platforms. Our software, Plaquette, is the only software that enables quantum hardware companies to design fault-tolerant quantum computers in the presence of real-world hardware imperfections.

Role and responsibilities
We are looking for a quantum computing commercialization lead to spearhead our customer engagement and market expansion efforts. This role will help make Plaquette more useful to quantum hardware companies across all platforms, thus contributing to faster progress of the industry towards useful quantum computing.

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the quantum hardware industry and QC Design’s fault-tolerance design software and architecture offerings.
  • Drive customer engagement by preparing for and following up on meetings with both current and prospective customers in quantum computing companies.
  • Work with the product team to arrange presentations and demonstration materials.
  • Meticulously track leads and manage communications with potential customers, ensuring a well-organized and efficient sales funnel.
  • Help ensure that our customers love our product by learning customer pains and gains, and coordinate with the product team to address these.
  • Identify new market opportunities for our fault-tolerance software.
  • Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance awareness about our offerings.

What we’re looking for

  • Master’s degree in physics, computer science, mathematics or fields related to quantum computing. Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor’s degree will also be considered.
  • A Master’s level understanding of quantum computing is required. An understanding of different quantum hardware platforms or quantum fault-tolerance is preferred.
  • Genuine interest in understanding and addressing the needs of our customers – quantum computing architects and hardware engineers.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a startup. Prior startup experience is a plus.
  • Curiosity towards learning broadly about the quantum computing industry.
  • Broad interest in developing marketing strategies for a fundamentally new type of industry and business.
