Tasks
- Enhancing research in the field of data-based methods in the circular economy, with applications including:
- Methods for the characterization and quality assurance of secondary raw materials using modern techniques (such as sensor-based real-time analysis and spectroscopic methods).
- Process development and optimization for the recovery of strategic and critical raw materials, metals, plastics, or nutrients.
- Process development and optimization for the recycling of products (especially packaging, batteries, end-of-life vehicles, waste from electrical equipment, buildings, and building components).
- Assessment methods in the circular economy (such as recyclability and circularity indicators).
- Teaching courses of currently 8 hours per week in English and German in the fields of: Data Sciences for Environmental Sciences, recycling processes, good scientific practice, and project-based teaching in the research area.
- Establishment of new, independent research areas from the acquisition of third-party funds to publication.
- Leading teams.
- Tasks in teaching administration, safety, and chair administration including software tools.
