Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: Visp, Switzerland
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with experience in MES Syncade and DeltaV software to join our team for an exciting project in the pharmaceutical sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development, optimization, and maintenance of automated systems to ensure efficient and compliant production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, change, optimize, and control production and cleaning recipes and documentation (EBR, SOP, etc.) in accordance with local procedures.
- Create necessary objects in MES/DeltaV during the recipe-building phase, test them in the development environment, and monitor these blocks during commissioning and qualification phases.
- Provide automation input required for the setup, commissioning, and qualification of manufacturing suites and equipment.
- Act as the interface for automation-related matters between different departments, ensuring successful project execution.
- Monitor the functionality of manufacturing records (EBR) in MES/DeltaV during water batch and first production batch, taking corrective actions in case of deviations.
- Support running production by troubleshooting automation issues for assigned recipes.
- Continuously improve procedures and processes (6S, Lean Sigma, KAIZEN, EPS) in compliance with safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of GMP and FDA regulations.
- Experience with validation and qualification of automation systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
