Job Description
Team and mission
We are looking for an experienced and independent DevOps / Platform Engineer to help us achieve our vision of providing leading data and software solutions. You will be responsible for our core production operations and DevOps platform working with our team in Zurich. We are seeking a professional who has a strong interest in automation solutions to reduce manual intervention, minimize errors, and enhance the scalability of our infrastructure. Your mission is to bridge the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and reliable delivery of software applications.
Your responsibility
In this role your main responsibilities are:
- Enhancing and streamlining developer workflows and tools
- Optimizing and updating build systems and templates for efficiency (e.g., Bazel, rules_js, and rules_ts)
- Ensuring that the software stack uses state-of-the-art technologies relevant to our context
- Building automation to simplify service and host management
- Administering and supporting critical development tools and integrations (e.g., Git, artifact store, CI/CD)
- Participating in our on-duty rotation to handle monitoring and incident response as needed
Our technologies
- Core ops: Docker (Compose) on Debian (on cloud VMs), Ansible with gitops
- Dev stack: TS on Node / Vite w/ React. GQL in the API layer. Prisma on PG
Qualifications
Your profile
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as DevOps Engineer (with infrastructure as code and automated sysops)
- Experience with internal platform development and/or Bazel or similar build system is a plus
- You have a passion for the work you do, are curious to learn more about our technologies and continually develop yourself
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, German is a plus
