What you’ll do:

SAP aims to develop an Open Reference Architecture (ORA) for a secure and sustainable cloud edge infrastructure that includes intelligent optimization methods for data transparency and security. This reference infrastructure, aspired by the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest – Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, shall be the basis for future software development and a prerequisite for a pan-European cloud edge infrastructure.

SAP will be working on the publicly funded project with both experienced employees from its existing workforce but also new hires. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates. If you are interested in Cloud Operating System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability you should consider applying.

In this role you will:

1. Develop Kubernetes operators in Python or Golang to establish a fully automated way of bringing in new hardware into an Openstack based cloud.
2. Work with the latest hardware models and use the APIs and protocols offered by the vendors.
3. Contribute to open-source projects.

What you bring:

1. Degree in Applied Sciences, preferably in Computer Science or related field.
2. At least 2 years of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OpenStack.
3. Track record of software development preferably with Golang or Python.
4. Ability to approach complex problems systematically along with a sense of ownership and drive.
5. Preferably experience working with Kubernetes and related cloud native technologies.
6. At least 2 years of experience with agile practices and CI/CD driven development.
7. Very good English skills written and spoken.
