Job Overview: The Flooring Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the flooring department, including product selection, inventory management, and customer relations. This role involves managing a team, ensuring smooth operations, meeting sales goals, and maintaining high standards of customer service and product knowledge. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of flooring materials, installation processes, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the flooring department, including sales, inventory, product displays, and customer service.
- Lead, motivate, and train a team of sales consultants, installers, and other staff members to ensure they meet or exceed performance targets.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, customer acquisition, and retention within the flooring segment.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, products, and competitive landscape to ensure the company remains competitive in the market.
- Ensure accurate inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and organizing flooring materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any issues that arise.
- Manage customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations with professionalism, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, interior designers, and other key stakeholders in the flooring industry.
- Oversee the scheduling and logistics of installations to ensure on-time and accurate completion of projects.
- Implement and maintain safety standards and policies for flooring installations and customer interactions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in flooring management or a similar role, with a strong understanding of flooring products, installation techniques, and customer service.
- Previous leadership experience in managing a team, ideally in a retail or construction-related industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Proficient in inventory management and sales software (CRM, POS systems).
