The Opportunity

We are looking for a General Manager to lead an aggressive growth strategy in industrial supply & procurement services.

You will start by integrating our first two acquisitions into a combined $16m revenue business generating over $2m profit. You will then drive organic growth with a strong focus on sales and marketing, with the goal of growing to over $60m revenue generating over $10m profit in the next 3-5 years.

The Role

As General Manager, you will run and grow a small business. Your mission will be to maximize growth, profitability, and cash flow through a combination of organic growth and add-on acquisitions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead & manage team.
  • Grow sales, profits & cash flow.
  • Deliver & exceed the annual plan.
  • Drive lead generation through digital marketing.
  • Ensure operations run smoothly (warehouse, accounts, systems, people, admin).
  • Remove obstacles, solve problems, and find opportunities.
  • Integrate additional business acquisitions.

This business has a sales-driven model with high transaction volume and relatively simple operations. There is significant upside to existing performance by leveraging technology to increase productivity, employing digital marketing for customer acquisition, and adopting a strategic approach to sourcing to improve competitiveness and margins.

This role will be based in Perth (with significant travel at times).

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an ambitious leader who wants to run and grow a small business. You will be a practical, 80/20 thinker with a strong bias to action, and a problem solver who can find opportunities and fix problems. You will be ultra-competitive, with high energy and a strong work rate.

The ideal candidate would have the following experience:

  • Success driving growth in small-medium business.
  • Experience in a fast-paced transactional sales environment (high deal volume).
  • Experience using digital marketing to drive lead generation & customer acquisition.
  • Experience in frontline management of small teams.

You do not need prior General Manager experience but must possess the right motivation and character traits for success.
