Job Description
Data-loving scientist needed to shape the future of our subscription business
- You will teach and guide a diverse team of Data Scientists on their respective projects and be responsible for our Customer Intelligence Team, which drives all optimizations towards our subscribers.
- You will play a crucial role in stakeholder communication, explaining all the ’statistical magic‘ in plain English or German.
- You will become the ‚go-to‘ person for the mechanics of our products and the underlying data.
- You will become an expert for our customers and marketing activities and a trusted advisor for our stakeholders.
- You will become an expert for our recommendation systems and play a pivotal role in their next steps.
- You will validate your ideas by analyzing historical data.
- You will design, implement, and analyze A/B tests.
- Alongside your coaching and advisory roles, you will take ownership of our projects and production pipelines, working hand-in-hand with your colleagues to deliver high-quality results.
- You will be a teacher and learner from everyone in the organization.
- You will advocate for data-driven decisions and explain to stakeholders what data we have and how to use it.
Qualifications
Solutions-oriented team player with a passion for data
- You are a data scientist with at least 5 years of experience and extensive management experience.
- You enjoy making sense out of huge amounts of data and want to see your algorithms work in production.
- Ideally, you have a PhD in statistics.
- You are a proactive and independent problem solver who can visualize and articulate complex issues and communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues.
- You have strong knowledge of Python and libraries for data manipulation and machine learning.
- You write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
- Experience with projects relating to CRM, CLV modeling, churn prediction, and expertise in marketing would be a plus.
- You have worked with Spark, R, Shiny, or AWS before.
- Ideally, you have worked with Palantir Foundry or comparable managed data platforms.
- You are fluent in English; German is a big plus for stakeholder communication.
- Experience with behavioral user data and A/B tests would also be a plus.
