About The Role

We are seeking a smart, analytically skilled, and communicative individual to join our Data Science team in Karlsruhe for our fast-growing business in new markets, commodities, and services. As a Student Data Scientist, you will be involved in a project modeling the European power markets and will contribute significantly to our products. This role offers the opportunity to understand the functioning of the electricity market, apply your knowledge practically, and explore new fields of expertise.

For Those Interested In Writing a Master Thesis

The master thesis will be conducted at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in collaboration with the IISM chair. It requires a prior internship of at least three months at ICIS, during which you will familiarize yourself with the model, deepen your skills, and define your master topic for a successful thesis.

Main Responsibilities

1. Modeling the European electricity market
2. Acquiring in-depth knowledge of the European electricity market
3. Supporting the data science team in analyzing and developing automated data routines
4. Analyzing input data and model results, and suggesting improvements

Key Skills

1. Interest in electricity markets, market analysis, and forecasting
2. High interest in learning new modeling techniques
3. Analytical mindset, critical thinking, and high engagement
4. Good communication skills in German and English
5. Experience in programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
