Job description
There are several PhD and PostDoc positions available at the research group Systems, Data, Simulation & Energy (SYDSEN) at the AIFB Institute. We research in the field of data-driven Modeling and Simulation to advance Digital Twins. With this, we aim to optimize decision-making and enhance reliability, energy efficiency, and other performance metrics in cyber-physical systems like energy and smart manufacturing systems. Our goal is to develop innovative methodologies that integrate data and expert knowledge for automated digital twin creation and system enhancement.
Some of the positions will be linked to our Horizon Europe Programme-funded projects DMaaST and ONE4ALL. Within these projects, we lead work packages focused on the research and advancement of Digital Twins in the domain of manufacturing.
As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include conducting cutting-edge research in data-driven modeling, simulation, and digital twins. In addition to your research contributions, you will actively participate in coordinating and teaching courses offered by our research group, as well as engaging in administrative tasks vital to the functioning of our group. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to scientific advancement and innovation at the forefront of data-driven approaches in cyber-physical systems research.

Personal qualification
- A master degree in computer science, software engineering, data science or similar.
- Strong interest in working with data-driven approaches.
- Interest in working with formal methods, modeling and simulation.
- Strong ambition towards excellence in science and technology at the highest international level is expected.
- Good knowledge of German or the willingness to learn it and good command of English.
