The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg is a leading international research and innovation centre in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services. We play an instrumental role in Europe by fueling innovation through research partnerships with industry, boosting R&D investments leading to economic growth, and attracting highly qualified talent. We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications.

The Centre is rapidly expanding its research activities and is seeking highly motivated doctoral candidates who wish to pursue research in close cooperation with our partners. For further information, you may check: .

Your role: The successful candidates will join a strong and motivated research team led by Prof. Tegawendé F. Bissyandé and Prof. Jacques Klein to carry out research to pursue a PhD on the following topic: Software Engineering and AI for CyberSecurity. Responsibilities include:

  1. Carrying out research in the predefined areas
  2. Disseminating results through scientific publications
  3. Participating in proposal drafting
  4. Collaborating with partners, for instance, with the Belgium Royal Military Academy and the Luxembourg Army Force

Your profile:

Qualification: The candidate should possess an MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or AI.

Experience: The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and experience in a number of the following topics:

  1. AI, machine learning, deep learning
  2. Software Engineering (e.g., dynamic and/or static analysis, bug localization)
  3. Cybersecurity

Skills: Development skills are a plus. Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of French, German, or Luxembourgish is desirable.
