About the Role
The Position
We are currently seeking to recruit a Portfolio Advisor to join our Germany & Austria team, based in Frankfurt. Working closely with the Head of Wholesale (German & Austria), this individual will play an important role in driving growth across Wellington’s full product suite with Financial Intermediaries in the region.
Responsibilities
- Work in close partnership with the Head of Wholesale to execute the Wholesale sales strategy with intermediaries in Germany and Austria;
- Providing dedicated client coverage, focused on driving growth across funds/strategies, in line with business priorities;
- Contributing to the team’s collaborative approach to relationship building with strategic distribution partners, including identifying, developing, and nurturing key contacts;
- Developing existing client relationships, highlighting key focus funds/strategies, contributing to building buy list positions, and identifying new opportunities to partner with key firms;
- Contributing to the development of wider industry relationships with influencers within the Wholesale channel;
- Partnering closely with Marketing and PR colleagues to ensure that local marketing and sales strategies are closely aligned, and contributing to the continued growth in brand awareness;
- Actively contributing to team sales meetings, strategy planning and development;
- Traveling within the region to support the team’s distribution effort with key accounts, contributing to client events, roadshows, and education.
Qualifications
The successful candidate is likely to:
- Have 10+ years of relevant industry experience, gained either in sales, product specialist or private banking role(s). Prior experience working closely with Wholesale / Financial Intermediary prospects and clients in Germany would be additive;
- Have a demonstrable track record of successfully developing client relationships;
- Have a good understanding of competitors, products, key market trends, market infrastructure and industry developments;
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of financial markets, and an ability to influence through a content-led, consultative client approach;
- Be action orientated, accountable, committed, driven and self-motivated, with excellent communication and team working skills;
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and trust, and a client centric focus;
- Have a strong academic background, including an undergraduate degree. A relevant professional qualification (e.g. IMC, CFA) or progress towards one, is preferred.
