About the role:

The primary role of the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is to support the President of AVT Australia with financial reporting, analysis, and assisting in making good business decisions. Overall responsibility includes financial reporting, management, forecasting, variance analysis and other related financial reporting. This position will be vital to AVT Australia, by consolidating both CAS and Non-CAS financials. Assisting in the management of inventory, financial reserve, rate management, multiyear planning, Fiscal year planning, EAC reviews, R&O reviews.

Responsibilities:

  • BUSINESS OPERATIONS:
    • Support annual financial planning process, monthly forecasting, and financial close reporting requirements.
    • Work with the U.S. corporate finance team to ensure all program data is up to date.
    • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report Sector rate-related financial data. Assist the President in developing standard reporting and analysis which helps enable the business.
    • Collect, organize, correlate and report on data from various sources in an effective, concise manner.
    • Manage preparation of financial data for senior management, to include:
      • Monthly Sector Financial Reporting.
      • Sector data variance analysis to support corporate needs – Quarterly earnings call, board meetings.
      • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting, assist the President in getting ahead of financial trends and helping better predict financial performance.
  • PROJECT/PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:
    • Prepare financial models to support business planning exercises, to include multi-year planning.
    • Manage the sector’s EAC process, assisting with the evaluation and ROI considerations associated with Research and Development and other business activity.
    • Manage the sector’s R&O evaluation process.
  • LEADERSHIP:
    • Mentor and provide guidance and oversight to junior team members.
    • Understanding of good program management practices and able to be an evangelist within the business.
    • Ability to build senior level financial and business presentations that are clear and concise.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor\’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field.
  • Minimum 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience at a government services contractor in a finance role.
  • Experience with auditors and responding to data calls and strong communication.
  • Proficiency with Excel functions at an advanced level, including linked workbooks, large multi-worksheet models, lookups, and pivot tables.
  • Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) & Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Proficiency with financial and accounting reporting systems such as SAP B1 (highly desired), CostPoint, Oracle/Hyperion Financial, COGNOS, QLIK, Smartview, GovWin, and others.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing and changing priorities, move quickly amongst various taskings, and meet deadlines.
  • Adept at working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Professional/effective communication – written and oral.
  • Possession of excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to consider and identify innovative solutions to improve operation, all efficiencies.

Applicants must have full, permanent work rights in Australia. Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is applicable to this role. Applicants must be able to obtain National Police and other related security clearances that apply to the role.
