SUMMARY OF JOB

As a Sr. Hardware Developer, you will be part of a Global Product Development team and would work closely with the Product Design Lead, Firmware Developers, Cybersecurity Expert, Test Engineers, V&V Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Compliance Engineer, Product Manager and Chief Technical Officer to develop Power Electronics for the Industrial Uninterrupted Power Supply Systems in accordance with the industrial standards and compliance, to tackle the upcoming market needs.

Your focus will be to develop new power electronics under an aggressive timeline while managing the stakeholders and aligning with other team members on the interlinked activities. You will be required to plan the associated development activities in accordance with the high-level program timeline and specify key milestones with the program manager so that the development activities can be tracked and executed effectively. You will be required to collaborate with other team members, identify possible risks related to the assigned activities and work on the mitigation, be innovative and encourage others to innovate and think outside the box.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. As a senior hardware developer (m/f/d), you are responsible for the development, testing and documentation of electronic, and power electronic assemblies.
2. You determine final power module designs and support the industrialization and procurement team to transfer them to the industrial manufacturing process; including layout changes, component selection and production-related design optimizations.
3. For performance scaling, develop new solutions from existing designs.
4. You are responsible for the test setup and testing of prototypes as well as for the higher-level system integration test of the assemblies.
5. You work independently, responsibly and think in an interdisciplinary manner while coordinating with other team members to align on the overall timeline of the development program.
6. You work closely with a firmware team during the prototype development and testing phase and also enjoy working in a team-oriented manner.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS – REQUIRED

• Master’s Degree or PhD in power electronics and electrical engineering or related engineering sciences.
• Simulation experience in the field of power electronics and associated cooling concepts.
• Experience with regulation loops in the bi-directional power conversion.
• Experience working with IGBT power stacks, associated drivers, protection and heatsink designs.
• Initial experience with creating electronic circuit diagrams, Control- and Power-PCB layouts, PCB design tools and dealing with common electronic test and measuring devices are required.
• Experience with microprocessors and DSPs in connection with the control of power electronic components is desirable.
• Ideally, you have already implemented relevant projects.
• Written and oral fluency in English, knowledge of German is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS – DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

• Knowledge of UPS Systems will be a plus.
• Experience in Industrialization from new product development perspective.
• Experience of requirement management at product level.
