As the Head of Communications, you will drive the development and execution of our communication strategies, ensuring consistency, clarity, and creativity across all channels. You’ll oversee a skilled team responsible for media production, social media, publications, and internal communications, fostering impactful engagement with both internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communication Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with organisational goals.
  • Serve as the key guardian of our brand, ensuring all messaging and materials reflect our values and mission.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance communication channels.

Team Oversight:

  • Lead and mentor a communications team, including professionals specialising in publications, social media, and multimedia.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to achieve communication goals.

Internal Communications:

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of employee communication platforms, such as SharePoint and intranet, to improve employee engagement and experience.
  • Develop and deliver clear, engaging content for internal updates, training, and organisational announcements.

Content Development:

  • Guide the production of high-quality video content for training, curriculum, and organisational updates.
  • Plan and coordinate internal media projects in consultation with executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with the media team to produce visually compelling content for a variety of audiences and purposes.

Brand Management:

  • Ensure consistency in brand representation across all communication platforms, digital media, and publications.
  • Establish systems for managing and reporting on marketing expenditures, ensuring alignment with communication goals.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

Relevant Education and Experience:

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant field.

Proven Communication Expertise:

  • Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies that engage diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering presentations and crafting compelling messaging.

Leadership Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire creative teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong project management skills to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Media Production Expertise:

  • Experience overseeing the creation of multimedia content for diverse platforms.
  • Familiarity with video production processes, including scripting, shooting, and editing.

Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving:

  • Ability to align communication strategies with organisational goals and navigate complex challenges.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and reporting on marketing expenditures.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SharePoint and intranet platforms for internal communication.
  • A valid Working with Children’s Check (or willingness to obtain one).
