- carrying out electrochemical experiments on molten salt for storage systems
- evaluation of the results with regard to the use of molten salt storage systems in commercial concentrating solar power (CSP) plants and in the future in the industrial and electricity sector in Germany
- You will present your results in the research team, at international conferences and in scientific articles
- You will also be responsible for supervising students writing their Bachelor’s and Master’s theses
You have successfully completed your scientific university studies in process engineering, energy technology, renewable energies, chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or similar with a master degree. You are enthusiastic about the topic of sustainable heat supply for industrial processes and the energy transition. You already have knowledge of electrochemistry, thermochemistry, wet chemical analysis methods, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, thermal process engineering, heat and mass transfer or a related field. You have experience in the materials laboratory or with thermal engineering setups in the temperature range 200 – 600 °C. You have experience in modelling, simulation and evaluation routines in a programming language, e.g. MATLAB or similar. You are a team player, creative, and able to work independent and self-motivated. excellent knowledge of English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
