Senior Associate / Special Counsel – Corporate M&A Lawyer
This is a great opportunity for an experienced SA or Special Counsel who is looking for an enthusiastic path to Partnership with one of Melbourne’s most elite M&A practices.
They are recognised as being at the very top of the mid-market M&A sector, acting for private equity, VC and major corporates on various buy-side transactions as well as advising startups, founders and large business owners on their capital raises, investments and sales. There is also a strong Capital Markets practice here and depending on your skillset and preferences we can incorporate that stream into this role too.
This is a busy and growing Corporate M&A practice with a solid stable of Associates and junior SAs, and half a dozen Partners in Melbourne who all come from top-tier backgrounds. They operate across most industries but in particular have a strong presence in healthcare, biotech and med-tech, financial services and fintech, IT and Cyber, retail, and agribusiness.
Despite current market conditions, the practice is developing nicely and the strategy behind this recruit is to leverage off this success and facilitate additional growth by bringing in a senior practitioner who wants to be a future leader within the team: someone who is well-rounded commercially and technically, who is just as good with managing clients and staff as they are with executing complex strategic transactions.
There is already an established client base here and a strong pipeline of work coming through, so we don’t require you to bring a book of clients and work over. That said, we are looking for someone who enjoys client development and can demonstrate success in securing work.
