is a language service provider based in Hamburg, Germany. We specialize in translations in the fields of marketing, finance, law, engineering, and medicine, and also offer services in translation & editing, interpreting, foreign language typesetting, and language training.
Tasks
We are offering a paid internship (€400-700 per month) at our office (not remote) in Hamburg for 5 months or longer with a range of exciting tasks such as:
- Running project kick-offs and post-project analysis initiatives
- Learning and working with client-specific tools
- In Word: performing formatting layout checks, source-to-target alignment, creating templates, automating the creation of tables of content, comparing (track changes) and merging documents, creating forms using fields and advanced tools, etc.
- In Excel: creating functions, pivot tables, charts, lists, and group data; analysing data; data validation, macros, and VBA, etc.
- In PowerPoint: inserting, embedding and linking media and data; comparing and merging documents; mirroring source to target
Requirements
You bring with you:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of standard CAT tools, as we extensively use Phrase and SDL Studio in our operations to ensure seamless project execution.
- Basic knowledge of a programming language is required; moreover, familiarity with a mark-up language will be considered a significant advantage for this role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential for documentation and presentation tasks.
- A high level of technical proficiency working with and troubleshooting various computer platforms and tools, along with the ability to understand and navigate proprietary systems effectively.
It is important that the internship is a mandatory internship as part of your studies. In the past, we have usually had students who studied German and were able to significantly improve their German during their time with us.
