Manages and coordinates a range of PMO and project controls services to support designated projects within the PMO and planning centre of excellence.

You’ll be responsible for:

1. Directing and managing application of specific project controls methods, techniques and tools with a good working knowledge of a variety of techniques on a range of project and programme complexity.
2. Directing and managing a team of professionals delivering projects controls services and responsible for staff development.
3. Being able to evaluate trends and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively in a complex project environment using numerical and statistical techniques as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
4. Leading application of specific project controls methods, techniques and tools.
5. Good working knowledge of EVM and project controls methodologies.
6. Advising on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively.
7. Managing projects controls delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programmes.
8. Playing a key role in multidisciplinary teams and take lead role in creating plans or analysing trends using numerical and statistical techniques.
9. Leading and managing a team of professionals delivering projects controls services and responsible for staff development.
10. Managing assistant managers & managers where required by the scale of the project.
11. Persuading and influencing colleagues.
12. Influencing clients to accept proposals and recommendations.
13. Satisfying customer requirements.
14. Tackling problems that do not have an obvious solution.
15. Delegating tasks to others.
16. Selling the business and winning work.
17. Creating and delivering persuasive presentations to large audiences.
18. Spotting and developing talented individuals.

You’ll need to have:

1. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products e.g. MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
2. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Willingness to be part of a high performing team.
4. Articulate and has potential to assimilate information quickly.
5. Experience of working on construction projects and/or consultancy.
6. Experience of delivering effective PMO and project controls/assurance frameworks/strategies.
7. Good knowledge of PMO and project controls tools, techniques and software (e.g. MS office and Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6 and RiskHive).
8. Understanding of construction/delivery lifecycle and/or consultancy.
9. Knowledge of PMO and project controls service delivery in one or more sectors (e.g. rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals)
10. Good interpersonal skills and potential ability to form effective working relationships.
11. Effectively collaborates with others.
12. Ability to articulate complex information and ideas for a non-technical audience.
13. Seeks to continuously improve.
14. Creating and delivering clear and professional presentations to project teams/clients.
