Overview of the Company
My client is an information technology researcher and teacher who specializes in practice-oriented education. An information security officer (m/f/d) is what we are searching for.
Accountabilities
- Ensuring and continuously improving the Information Security Management System, as well as all aspects of information security within the institute and towards external parties.
- Establishment and further development of a targeted and strategically oriented information security department as a central unit.
- Responding to security incidents, including investigation, reporting and implementation of remedial measures.
- Defining and implementing information security policies and monitoring and controlling their implementation.
- Managing and monitoring information and IT security processes and other information security aspects.
- Identifying security risks and developing strategies to minimize risks.
- Advising and training employees on information security awareness and behavior and working with internal and external stakeholders on information security issues.
- Ensuring the implementation of measures to comply with IT security standards, conducting regular security audits and evaluating the effectiveness of security measures.
- Presentation and coordination of the IS and risk situation to the management.
- Coordination and implementation of target group-oriented sensitization and training measures on information security.
Requirements Profile
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Passion and experience in leading (project) teams and willingness to innovate in the field of IT security.
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliability and initiative.
- Completed studies in (business) informatics or a comparable course of study with a focus on IT security as well as demonstrable professional experience in the field of information security, ideally in a research-related environment.
- Expertise in IT security topics such as ISO 27001, Identity and Access Management, Endpoint Detection and Response, Web Application Firewalls, Cloud Security, Security Incident and Event and Emergency Management.
- Practical experience with the use and further development of an ISMS.
- Ability to identify and assess security risks.
- Sound knowledge of common information security standards and frameworks (ISO 2700x, IT-Grundschutz, NIST, etc.).
- A relevant ISM certification such as CISSP, TISP, ISB / CISO (ISO 27001 or IT-Grundschutz), CISM, CISA or a comparable qualification is an advantage.
- Very good knowledge of German and English.
