Our client is looking for a Construction Safety Manager (HSE) in the heart of Switzerland. If you are interested, please reach out to my colleague Mihail Ivanov:

Duration: 18 – 24 Months

Capacity: 100% On-Site

Key Requirements:

  • Expert in Process Safety (Atex, Fire, Gas Handling)
  • Ability to guide and execute strategic and tactical safety projects.
  • Background in pharmaceutical environment
  • Preferably from an Engineering educational background (not a must)
  • Must be fluent in German and English.

Key Tasks:

  • The role provides daily oversight of relevant EHS programs including Construction and Commissioning Safety, Pre-Startup Safety Review, High Risk Activities and Work Permits, Explosion Protection, Contractor Management and EHS training.
  • Ensure all projects are executed in compliance with Swiss Regulations and company Engineering and EHS Standards.
  • Responsible for assessing and mitigating risks at the Production Site to minimize lost time due to injuries, illness or business disruptions in relation to Capex Projects.
  • Help to develop, review and approve Construction Safety Plans, Method Statements, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, and Risk Assessments for project activities.
  • Daily EHS tours of ongoing construction activities. Performs Near Miss and Incident Investigations, Root Cause Analysis according to the “5-Whys approach” and ensures CAPAs and root causes are appropriate and closed in a timely manner.
  • Defines Project execution strategies in compliance with the applicable EHS requirements and develops relevant EHS tools and ensure effective implementation on Capex Projects.
  • Conducts regular EHS Inspections and Audits and takes care for the follow-up of EHS reports.
  • Executes Design Risk Assessments, attends Process Safety Assessments, HAZOPs.
