Our client is seeking a Head of Research and Development (R&D) to drive the development of cutting-edge technologies and solutions. This pivotal role will ensure that they stay ahead of market trends while meeting the evolving needs of global cloud hosting companies.
About the Role
- Lead and manage their R&D function to deliver advanced technologies aligned with business goals and market demands.
- Oversee the design, prototyping, and testing of new products with a focus on sustainability and efficiency.
- Continuously improve existing products to maintain industry relevance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive innovation and support business growth.
- Build and mentor a high-performing R&D team, fostering creativity and continuous improvement.
- Oversee R&D budgets, project timelines, and IP management to ensure successful outcomes.
- Represent the business at industry events, positioning the company as a leader in innovation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering (or related field) or significant industry trade experience.
- Proven leadership in R&D, ideally within the data centre or related industries.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong technical expertise in M&E design, steel fabrication, and modular systems.
- Deep understanding of sustainability challenges and opportunities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- A proven track record of delivering innovative, high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Passion for innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel as required.
