Experienced Technical Field Advisor - Gas Turbine

FieldCore is looking for an exceptional Mechanical Field Engineer and Technical Field Advisor to join our Field Operations team based in Germany.

As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

Let’s Talk about the Role

As a Technical Field Advisor for Gas Turbines, you will contribute to the management of site activities including planning, organizing, integrating, and monitoring of resources such as labour, tools and technical assistance. You will make decisions, apply concepts to issues of great complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning at customer power generating facilities. Furthermore, you will perform hands-on work and be responsible for the maintenance of Gas Turbines and some Steam Turbines.

How You Will Make a Difference:

1. Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
2. Manage, coordinate, and/or monitor Gas site activities.
3. Lead and manage on-site systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation.
4. Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment.
5. Provide technical instruction and work to company standards regarding operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer’s sites.
6. Responsible for writing technical reports, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely and thorough basis.
7. Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
8. Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages.
9. Perform walk-downs to verify that contractors and craft personnel are working to company standards.
10. Direct and manage aftermarket upgrades that need to be performed at the site level.

Special Role Requirements:

1. Able to travel extensively overseas to and from projects and various field assignments.
2. Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
3. Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.

Skills for Success

You should have extensive Field Engineering Services experience with a solid understanding of Gas Turbine Operation and Controlling Parameters. You will also:

1. Strong technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams, dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment.
2. Have the knowledge and skill to actively support field service activities and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise.
3. Have experience working on successful installations and be trained on Alstom, Siemens or other OEM equipment.

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
