To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and team-oriented individual for our Plasma Control Technologies division at the Aachen site as a

Mechanical Design Engineer with focus on master data management in PLM (m/f/d)

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets. At the German PCT site, the expertise is mainly in the field of RF generators.

That is what you will do:

1. Main responsibility (key user) for variant and configuration management of existing and new products, especially RF generators and matching networks, as specified by PM in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) program.
2. Development of new, and adaptation of existing, mechanical components and cable assemblies for use in RF power generators or other RF systems.
3. Creation and maintenance of 3D models, master data, parts lists, and drawings of assemblies and devices in CAD, PLM, and ERP systems.
4. Management, execution, and implementation of product adaptations, especially at system level in the course of change projects.
5. Merging all system-relevant parts of the HW and SW developers in the PLM program in close coordination with the system architect.
6. Close interaction and communication with product and project management regarding the products for which you are responsible (coordination of specifications and project plans).
7. Cooperation with other departments (purchasing, production, quality, test, NPI) in order to transfer the developments into large series production.

What you bring:

1. Completed technical training and/or studies in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechatronics.
2. Experience in the 3D design of mechanical and ideally also electro-mechanical components and systems.
3. Good knowledge in the use of CAD programs, ideally SolidWorks.
4. Good knowledge of setting up, maintaining, and using common PLM tools, especially Teamcenter.
5. Basic knowledge of ERP programs, ideally SAP.
6. Practical experience of working in projects with interdisciplinary specialist groups.
7. Good organizational skills, basic knowledge of managing projects and applying product development processes.
8. Ideally practical experience in the production-related development of complex electrotechnical platforms and devices.
9. Written and spoken English, knowledge of German is an advantage.
