The opportunity
We’re currently looking for an intern to join our Public Relations and Communications team to successfully establish our premium electric car brand in Germany and support a positive reputation for our brand and cars. We seek someone with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed. Additionally, this person should not mind the occasional sustainable travel in the service of cleaner electric performance.
The PR and Communications team is responsible for external and internal communications and cooperates strongly within the DACH region as well as with the Swedish Headquarters. This is a very exciting role where you will gain a breadth of experience and knowledge, reporting directly to the Polestar Head of PR and Communications DACH.
This position is located in Cologne, Germany. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time and support to do what needs to be done and to enjoy doing it. Occasionally, travel within Germany and potentially the DACH region is required. The internship is for at least 6 months.
The responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be expected to support the team on various projects and daily tasks. As a member of the Public Relations and Communications team in Germany, you’ll be instrumental in driving positive coverage about our brand and products. Here is a breakdown of the tasks and areas you’ll be responsible for:
- Press fleet management
- Media Monitoring & Reporting
- Supporting internal communications
- Supporting newsletter creation: Assisting in the creation of the monthly newsletter, distributed to our network, Space staff, and employees to keep them informed and engaged.
- Supporting event management: Assisting with test drives, range days, Polestar Space events, and internal events.
- Creating text and content: Drafting texts of all kinds for daily media work.
- Supporting media and influencer cooperation to create further brand awareness.
- Assisting in administration.
The ideal candidate
To succeed in this role and at Polestar, you’ll need several characteristics: tenacity, flexibility, curiosity, the ability to take the initiative, meet deadlines, and abandon ideas when they’re not feasible.
- Sound knowledge of the media landscape, including print, online, and social media.
- Service orientation and professional communication skills.
- Excellent German oral and written communication skills; English skills are a plus.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A team player who is eager to learn.
In Addition, You’ll Need The Following Qualifications
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PPT, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme for the entire duration of the internship (ideally 3rd semester or later for Bachelor’s).
- Ideally 1 or 2 prior internships, but this is not a requirement.
