About the Opportunity
Jacobs is committed to playing a leadership role in Global Energy Transition. Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we’re looking for a Lead Protection and Control Engineer to help position Jacobs for success.
Our Power and Energy team provides a range of services to our transmission and distribution clients. This includes work on transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, and wind farms.
We are recruiting for a Lead Protection & Control Engineer to join our Electrical Transmission & Distribution team. The role requires P&C engineering knowledge and skills, with proven experience in the design and specification (including calculation of settings) of equipment used in electrical networks and renewable generation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in working with transmission voltages 220kV/380kV and will probably have a consulting, utility or renewable generation background.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Leadership on the FEED and detail design workstream for TSOs (50Hertz, Amprion, Tennet, TransnetBW)
- Ensure adequate quality assurance and delivery of FEED, Detailed design and bids for the Protection & Control up to 380kV.
- Ensure adequate resources and training of resources for the purposes of delivering FEED and detailed design work.
- P&C Design Experience in the following areas will be considered advantageous:
- TSO & DNO
- Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
- Windfarms and HVDC
