The Global Procurement organization creates value for Essity by ensuring cost leadership and capturing supplier innovations for increased sales and margins. Global Procurement secures supply and ensures risk analysis and mitigating actions, as well as driving procurement with purpose contributing to corporate, social and environmental responsibility. It is a global and diverse organization with 400 employees.

About the Role

The Procurement Operations Director Europe is responsible for the buyer and procurement administration functions within Global Procurement both for direct and indirect procurement.

S/he executes on global strategies as well as develops local procurement strategies. The role works closely with strategic procurement to ensure best-in-class services in a timely manner. Also, Procurement Operations Director Europe collaborates with other functions to ensure process standardization, system efficiency, and compliance with internal/external regulations as well as continuous improvement throughout the Procurement Operations organization.

Procurement Operations Director Europe responsibilities also include the business partnering function ensuring full collaboration between procurement and the Essity manufacturing sites. The role acts holistically with an overall business understanding and in close collaboration with other functions to maximize value created by Global Procurement.

What are the expectations of this role ahead?

1. Deliver on set KPIs together with the full organization and execute the S2P process in a timely manner while delivering maximum value.
2. Ensuring implementation of agreed initiatives in Essity manufacturing sites, also capturing feedback from the sites.
3. Roll out S4HANA and Ariba guided buying in all European countries.
4. Continue to optimize the efficiency and value creation from working in clusters, and together with Procurement Excellence advance our digital roadmap and automation journey, to ensure that the overhead costs in Procurement Operations Europe are best-in-class.

What You Will Do

1. Contribute actively to Procurement Leadership team to develop the function in line with business expectations.
2. Lead the European Procurement Operations organization.
3. Build an agile service-oriented organization.
4. Develop strong relationships and credibility with key internal stakeholders.
5. Drive delivery and understanding of Global Procurement key programs and strategies.
6. Develop local procurement strategies, as well as Business Partnering strategy to mitigate risk, secure supply, generate cost saving/avoidance initiatives as well as value creation and bundling opportunities.
7. Collaborate with Global Procurement to deliver continuous improvement.
8. Identify business/organizational needs and anchor it for further process development.
9. Identify improvement opportunities to further raise digitalization and system efficiency.

Who You Are

1. Master’s degree or equivalent within a relevant field (Business, Economics, Supply Chain etc).
2. At least +5 years working experience in similar role in procurement – experience in procurement transformation with clustering of services is an advantage.
3. Proven ability to lead people and create a collaborative work environment driven by ambitious goals as well as high team spirit.
4. Ability to work in a complex, matrix, international organization.
5. Analytical mindset and results oriented.
6. Solid communication and stakeholder management skills.
7. Perspective and make the vision happen.

Additional Information

This position is preferably based in any major Essity location in Europe.
