Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain to lead our organization’s operational and supply chain functions. This senior executive will be responsible for driving strategic leadership, overseeing operations management, managing global supply chains, and enhancing profitability. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in these areas and possess a deep understanding of the complexities of global supply chains and operations. This role is based in Berlin.
You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement operational strategies: Align operational strategies with the company’s overall strategic goals to ensure long-term growth and sustainability.
- Leadership and team development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing operations and supply chain team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other senior leaders to drive organizational success and operational efficiency.
Operations Management
- Optimize operational processes: Streamline and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Quality assurance: Ensure high standards of quality and compliance across all operational activities.
- Technology integration: Leverage technology and innovation to improve operational capabilities and competitiveness.
- Technical ramp-up management: Oversee the technical ramp-up of new products, ensuring smooth integration into the existing operations and supply chain processes.
Global Supply Chain Management
- Oversee global supply chain operations: Manage and optimize end-to-end supply chain activities, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
- Supplier relationship management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Risk management: Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain to ensure business continuity and resilience.
Profitability Management
- Financial performance: Drive financial performance by managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities for revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Cost reduction initiatives: Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or customer satisfaction.
- Data-driven decision-making: Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions that enhance profitability and operational performance.
You are
Qualifications
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degrees preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in operations and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Global experience: Proven experience managing global supply chain operations and working with international teams and suppliers, with a footprint in manufacturing and distribution across Asia, Europe and America.
- Leadership skills: Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of driving organizational change and performance.
- Strategic mindset: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to develop and execute long-term plans.
- Financial acumen: Solid understanding of financial management principles and a track record of managing budgets and improving profitability.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
