Major Duties: As a professional (graduate) engineer, you will be responsible for the planning and review of projects and studies prepared by in-house personnel and Engineer (AE) firms in the field of electrical engineering. You will design projects for construction, extension, modification, and rehabilitation of electrical systems for US Army facilities, including power and light distribution systems, transformer stations, stationary and mobile generating plants, and intricate security power supply requirements. You will analyze and design based on a thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practices, developing studies, preliminary and final designs, technical specifications, and cost estimates. You will evaluate manufacturers‘ proposed products and provide technical advice during construction. Projects include major electrical systems funded by CMA, NAF, and other special programs.

Qualification Requirements: Applicants must be graduates from a Fachhochschule, Berufsakademie, or Technische Hochschule as an Engineer in the discipline required for the position, recognized by German authorities to practice engineering in Germany. Foreign applicants must obtain equivalent certification from German authorities. A valid driver’s license class B is required, and you must be able to obtain/maintain a military motor vehicle operator’s license. English Language Proficiency Level C1 and German Language Proficiency Level C2 are required.

Conditions of Employment: Situational teleworking is possible. Occasionally, temporary duty travel (TDY) is required. Heavy lifting up to 10 lbs. is required.
