As a Workforce/Staffing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the right talent meets the dynamic demands of our logistics centres in Germany. By building strong relationships with external staffing providers and internal stakeholders, you’ll enable us to deliver the exceptional customer experiences Zalando is known for.
This position can be based at any of our locations in Berlin , Erfurt , Mönchengladbach , Gießen or Lahr.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
- Work with external staffing providers to match labour supply with demand at our logistics centres.
- Collaborate with logistics stakeholders to optimise workforce planning at our German hubs.
- Build strategic partnerships with temporary staffing agencies, which includes selecting, negotiating, and renegotiating terms, setting KPIs, and analysing market trends.
- Monitor vendor relationships to ensure compliance with SLAs and business goals.
- Conduct agency performance reviews by setting KPIs, evaluating results, and holding regular review meetings with suppliers.
- Analyze workforce planning requirements, recruitment strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives while preparing reports and statistics for internal and business communications.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, P&O, WoCo, Controlling, Finance, InPro, and Legal) to drive collaboration and achieve shared goals.
- Act as the main point of contact for all staffing and temporary employment topics in our German logistics hubs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
- At least 5 years of experience in workforce planning in a fast-paced environment (logistics experience is a plus).
- Good understanding of e-commerce and logistics.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts with temporary staffing providers and set enforceable KPIs.
- Experience in project and process management, ideally in a corporate setting.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, including advanced Excel skills.
- Fluent German (C1 or higher) and strong English skills.
- Willingness to travel within Germany.
