Geospatial Data Engineer (f/m/d) – Full-time – Remote

credium is an AI-powered company that specializes in building data insights by refining open data such as aerial imagery and LiDAR data using AI technologies. This enables credium to generate up-to-date, reliable, and nationwide building information as an on-demand service. In other words, credium is able to transform raw data into useful insights by leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, providing users with accurate and up-to-date information about buildings and other structures in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • You design, implement and maintain robust, scalable and efficient data ingestion and transformation pipelines, processing large scale open geospatial data.
  • You ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across various platforms and systems.
  • You create data model, data mapping, and data lineage documentation.
  • You create geodata insights and reports.
  • You transform raw geodata into features that enhance our products, not shying away from complex algorithms and calculations.
  • You collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their data requirements and ensure data meets their needs.

Profile

  • You hold a degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or related field or comparable working experience.
  • You have proven professional experience with large-scale geospatial data.
  • You have strong Python skills (pandas, numpy, geopandas, gdal, shapely, rasterio, and other relevant libraries).
  • You are familiar with GIS tools (such as QGIS, ArcGIS etc.) for advanced mapping and spatial analysis.
  • You have solid RDBMS skills and experience with database management (PostgreSQL/Oracle/MSSQL) and geospatial extensions (e.g. PostGIS).
  • You have strong sense of responsibility, with the ability to tackle both high-level design and nitty-gritty data issues.
  • You proved your ability to document and explain complex technical concepts.
  • You have strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • (Bonus) You have professional experience with Cloud Data Infrastructure, ideally Azure.
  • (Bonus) You are experienced in transforming data in PySpark for handling large datasets and transforming geospatial data using Sedona.
  • (Bonus) Experience working in a startup environment.
